Wycombe High School is a girls' grammar school in High Wycombe. It uses the GL exam for 11+ entry and does not have an interview stage. The school has a defined catchment area which is part of its oversubscription criteria for girls meeting the qualifying standard in the Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test.

If your daughter is the kind of girl who throws herself into everything and wants school days that feel happy as well as ambitious, Wycombe High is a girls' school on Marlow Road in High Wycombe that sets out to look past league tables towards a broader idea of what a girl can become. It opened in September 1901 with just eighteen pupils, and it will mark 125 years of educating girls in September 2026. It is now one of the larger grammar schools in the country, with well over a thousand girls, and boys are not admitted at any stage.

The school sums up its ethos in four values: infectious joy, limitless ambition, insatiable curiosity and generous spirit. It is plain about wanting each girl to find her own interests and make lasting friendships, and wellbeing carries real weight here, recognised by national wellbeing and Mind awards. There is a full programme of music, sport and other activities beyond lessons. In 2023 the school was named Secondary School of the Year in the Sunday Times Parent Power guide, a nod to both its results and its pastoral care.

Led since September 2022 by headteacher Mrs Nicola Renyard, Wycombe High suits an able girl who will enjoy a busy, ambitious place that cares as much about how she feels as about how she scores. It is the kind of school where a happy day matters as much as a good result, and it will suit a daughter who is happiest when there is always something more to throw herself into, a new friendship to make or another interest to chase.
