There is also a much-loved school dog, Cooper, a soppy black Labrador the pupils adore, and parents describe a school that is genuinely proactive about mental health and wellbeing.

Led by headteacher Claire Giblin since 2018, this is a place for a bright, motivated child who wants ambition and breadth in equal measure, not pure exam grind. The day-to-day feel is of children behaving impeccably and achieving well, surrounded by the clubs, the conversations and the slightly soppy Labrador that make it somewhere a child is glad to come each morning.
