Coleraine Grammar is a co-educational voluntary grammar school on the Castlerock Road in Coleraine, taking children from eleven to eighteen on a seventy acre site. It is non-denominational and says so plainly: it has a broad Christian ethos, but no denomination is favoured and pupils of any faith or none are welcome. Entry is at Year 8 through the SEAG assessment.

The school in its present form opened in September 2015, from the amalgamation of Coleraine Academical Institution, a boys' school founded in 1860, and Coleraine High School, which began as a girls' academy in the 1870s. For most of the decade since, it ran across two campuses, which is why older families in the town still talk about it that way. That ended in November 2024, when the last year groups moved onto Castlerock Road and the school came together on one site for the first time. The grounds carry a boathouse on the River Bann, an indoor pool and a running track, and the school counts five Olympic rowers among its former pupils.

The day runs from five to nine until twenty-five past three, six periods of fifty minutes on a two-week timetable, with assembly sitting in the middle of the morning between the second period and break rather than at the start. Year 8 is settled in over about fourteen months, in stages: taster days for Primary 6 in June, an information evening, a summer camp in July, then a morning in August when the new year group has the building to itself before anyone else comes back. New pupils get a guidebook and extended weekly registration sessions set aside for questions.
